Helix Elite review: excellent for side sleepers, outscored on value

Helix's trial runs 120 nights from delivery. You must keep the mattress at least 30 nights before asking for a return, a household is limited to two returns, and Helix arranges pickup and a full refund. Because the Elite has a two-part design, Helix can send a different comfort insert during the trial if the firmness is wrong. Sleep Foundation notes that the trial may not apply to mattresses bought through partner retail stores.

The limited lifetime warranty covers Helix mattresses bought after 1 February 2025, for the original purchaser in the US or Canada. For the first 10 years, Helix repairs or replaces a defective mattress at no cost. After that, coverage is prorated, and Sleep Foundation puts the owner's share at 50% to 75% of the price. Helix's warranties are not transferable.

Among the rivals, the Saatva Latex Hybrid offers 365 nights and a lifetime warranty. Casper and Purple offer 100 nights and 10 years, and Purple now charges a $250 return fee on the RestorePremier and asks for 21 nights before a return. TEMPUR-Adapt offers 90 nights and 10 years.

Tom's Guide reported in April 2025 that the Elite's two memory-foam comfort layers moved to 4 lb and 7 lb densities infused with graphite and titanium. Two half-inch microcoil layers became a single three-quarter-inch layer, and a zoned ErgoAlign layer replaced the dual transition foams. The two-part comfort-cartridge design was unchanged, and optional graphite cooling ribbons were introduced.

The warranty rose from 10 or 15 years to lifetime for mattresses bought after 1 February 2025. If you are buying a pre-2025 Elite from a retailer's old stock, confirm which terms apply.

The trial was 100 nights at the time of the 2025 revamp. Helix's return policy, last updated in January 2026, gives 120 nights, and older reviews still quote 100.
