Helix Elite review: excellent for side sleepers, outscored on value
The Helix Midnight Elite is one of the best-tested hybrids for side sleepers, with top marks for pressure relief and a lifetime warranty. It is not the best-scoring premium hybrid, though. At about $3,000 for a Queen on sale, its cooling results depend on who tested it, and the Saatva Latex Hybrid scores higher at NapLab for about $560 less, with a year-long trial.

Buy it if you sleep on your side and want deep pressure relief; otherwise start with the Saatva Latex Hybrid
The Midnight Elite earns its reputation where it matters most for side sleepers. NapLab gives it 10/10 for pressure relief, a top-10% overall score of 9.21 and credits its deep comfort layer with contour that suits side sleeping. The lifetime warranty is among the best available. It is not the best premium hybrid overall. The Saatva Latex Hybrid scores higher at NapLab (9.42), beats it on motion isolation, edge support and responsiveness, costs about $560 less on current sale prices and comes with a 365-night trial against Helix's 120. Helix's cooling reputation is also less settled than its marketing suggests: one of three testers rates the Midnight Elite 6/10.

What this research couldn’t establish
- Purchasd tested nothing. Every performance figure is attributed to the outlet that measured it, and each of those outlets earns affiliate commission.
- The head-to-head ranking rests on one outlet, NapLab, because it is the only source here that scores every model on the same scale. Sleep Foundation and Sleepopolis scored the Helix Elite but not the whole comparison set.
- Cooling is disputed. NapLab gives the Midnight Elite 10/10 and Sleepopolis 5/5, while Sleep Foundation rates the Elite line 7/10 for temperature control, and 6/10 for the Sunset, Moonlight and Midnight Elite. NapLab tested a mattress without CoolForce.
- CoolForce performance claims are Helix's own. Tom's Guide reported a claimed 22% more heat removal in 2025; Helix's current page claims 4 degrees cooler for over 12 hours from a third-party test it does not publish. No independent tester has measured the layer.
- Helix's pages were verified from Internet Archive captures, not the live site. Helix's promotions change often: 25% off the Midnight Elite on 17 September 2026, and 30% off on other Elite pages captured on 13 September. Helix notes that its reference price may never have been charged.
- Height is reported three ways: Helix lists the Elite collection at 15 inches, NapLab measured 15.5, and Sleep Foundation and Sleepopolis give 16.
- GREENGUARD Gold certification rests on a 2022 announcement covering Helix's whole range. Helix's current Elite page lists CertiPUR-US-certified foams and a fiberglass-free build but does not mention GREENGUARD.
- Owner evidence is twelve Reddit threads, and it is weak evidence in this category. a r/Mattress moderator describes marketing accounts as a persistent problem, Helix staff accounts reply in many of the threads reviewed, and commenters accuse the brand of seeding positive reviews. Owners post most when unhappy, and many reports concern the Luxe line or the Elite built before Helix's April 2025 rebuild. They identify issues worth checking, not their frequency. An 88% customer-satisfaction figure from an earlier version was dropped because no source for it could be found.
- The body-weight guidance in the model picker reflects Sleep Foundation's small tester panel. Helix's own positioning is by sleep position.
- The Purple RestorePremier Queen price comes from NapLab's listing (page updated 18 September 2026), because Purple's product page did not render a price. The Casper Dream Max Queen figure is Casper's regular price; the page showed a 20% promotion without displaying the Queen sale price.
- NapLab's TEMPUR-Adapt score is for the all-foam Medium model; the Medium Hybrid version was not tested.
- Sleepopolis's review is dated October 2024 and describes Helix's earlier 100-night trial.
- This category has no meaningful local used market, so marketplace relevance is set to none and no local-listing search is offered on this brief.
