Is the Helix Elite good for hot sleepers?
The firmer models are, and the evidence on the Midnight Elite is split. NapLab rates it 10/10 for cooling and Sleepopolis 5/5, while Sleep Foundation gives it 6/10, and the firmer Dawn, Dusk and Twilight Elite 8/10. You do not need the paid CoolForce layer to get NapLab's result.
Every Elite model comes with Helix's GlacioTex Elite cover, a heat-conductive fabric that feels cool to the touch. On that standard build, NapLab scored the Midnight Elite 10/10 for cooling and Sleepopolis gave it 5 out of 5. NapLab notes that its test mattress did not have CoolForce.
Sleep Foundation was less impressed. It rates the Elite line 7/10 for temperature control, with the Sunset, Moonlight and Midnight at 6/10 and the firmer Dawn, Dusk and Twilight at 8/10. Plusher tops let you sink further into the foam, which is the usual reason softer beds sleep warmer.
CoolForce, a graphite layer under the cover, costs extra ($199 by NapLab's count). Helix says it keeps you 4 degrees cooler for over 12 hours, based on a third-party test it does not publish, and no independent tester has measured it. If cooling is your main concern, pick a firmer model and use the 120-night trial rather than paying for the add-on first.
Owner reports do not settle it. Some describe the Midnight Elite as cool to the touch; others report sweating, including with CoolForce. One owner documented a CoolForce-branded insert with no CoolForce material inside, which Helix refunded. If you pay for the layer, unzip the cover and check it is there.

Helix Elite review: excellent for side sleepers, outscored on valueBy Purchasd Research. Performance scores come from three professional testing outlets: NapLab, Sleepopolis and Sleep Foundation. NapLab is the only one of them that has scored every model compared here on the same scale (its scoring system 1.3), so the head-to-head table uses NapLab alone. Construction, trial and warranty terms come from each manufacturer. Helix's website refuses automated requests, so its product, Elite collection, warranty and return-policy pages were read from Internet Archive captures dated 5 June to 17 September 2026. Its Queen reference price was confirmed against Helix's storefront product feed on 27 September 2026. Competitor prices were read from the manufacturers' pages on 27 September 2026. Where a page did not display the Queen price, NapLab's listed price was used, and each price is labeled with its source. Purchasd tested no mattresses. Owner experience comes from twelve Reddit threads read in full on 1 October 2026 (r/Mattress and r/HelixSleep, 2023–2026), used to find recurring complaints and disagreements, never to estimate failure rates. Purchasd is not affiliated with Helix Sleep or any competitor and uses no affiliate links. All three testing outlets cited here, and Tom's Guide, disclose that they may earn commission on sales, which is common among mattress review sites. Purchasd does not.
