Which Helix Elite model should I buy?
Choose by sleep position, then by weight. Helix positions Sunset, Midnight and Twilight Elite (soft, medium, firm) for side sleepers, Moonlight, Dusk and Dawn Elite for back and stomach sleepers, and Plus Elite for plus-size sleepers. Side sleepers of 130 to 230 lb rated the Midnight Elite highest.
Helix sells seven Elite models, and the names give no clue which is which. Its collection page sorts them into two sets of three firmness levels. Sunset, Midnight and Twilight are soft, medium and firm models for side sleepers, and Moonlight, Dusk and Dawn are soft, medium and firm models for back and stomach sleepers. The Plus Elite is a separate medium-firm model for plus-size and big-and-tall sleepers.
Sleep Foundation's testers add a body-weight view. Those under 130 lb rated the Sunset and Moonlight Elite highest, those between 130 and 230 lb the Midnight and Dusk, and those over 230 lb the Plus and Twilight. Its firmness ratings run from soft (3) on the Sunset to firm (8) on the Dawn.
The firmness choice has side effects. Sleep Foundation scored the firmer Dawn, Dusk and Twilight 8/10 for temperature control against 6/10 for the softer Sunset and Moonlight and the Midnight. The softest models also scored lowest for ease of movement, edge support and durability. If you are between two models, the firmer one gives up some pressure relief and gains on all of those measures.
Owners on Reddit report the same model arriving softer or firmer than they expected, and one 230 lb side sleeper found the Midnight Elite sank too far before trying Plus Elite layers. Treat the first choice as provisional and use the trial's comfort-insert swap if it is wrong.
