Helix or Purple: which is better?
Compared with the Purple RestorePremier Hybrid, the Helix Midnight Elite. It scores 9.21 to 8.32 at NapLab, costs about $500 less at current prices, and its trial has no return fee. The Purple is more responsive with firmer edges, which suits combination sleepers. Purple's wider range was not compared.
Purchasd compared one Purple model, the RestorePremier Hybrid, a 13-inch bed with a 3-inch GelFlex Grid over coils. On NapLab's scale it scores 8.32 overall, in the bottom 28% of mattresses tested, against 9.21 for the Midnight Elite. The Elite leads on pressure relief (10 against 9.0), cooling (10 against 9.0) and, by a wide margin, motion isolation (9.2 against 6.7). It also scores far better for off-gassing (8.9 against 2.8).
The Purple wins on movement. NapLab gives it 10 for response time against the Elite's 7.6, and 9.9 for edge support against 9.1. If you change position often or sit on the edge of the bed, the grid's quick, springy response is what the Elite's slow memory foam lacks.
The terms favour Helix. NapLab lists a Queen RestorePremier at $3,495 (Purple's own page did not show a price), against $2,998 for a Queen Midnight Elite with Helix's 25% code on 17 September 2026. Purple gives 100 nights, with a 21-night minimum before a return and a $250 return fee on its Restore collection, plus a 10-year warranty. Helix gives 120 nights with a 30-night minimum and no return fee, plus a limited lifetime warranty.
Side sleepers who want deep pressure relief, and couples who want little motion transfer, should start with the Elite. Combination sleepers who want bounce and strong edges have a case for the Purple, if they accept the return fee and its off-gassing score. This answer covers the RestorePremier only; Purple's other mattresses were not researched.

Helix Elite review: excellent for side sleepers, outscored on valueBy Purchasd Research. Performance scores come from three professional testing outlets: NapLab, Sleepopolis and Sleep Foundation. NapLab is the only one of them that has scored every model compared here on the same scale (its scoring system 1.3), so the head-to-head table uses NapLab alone. Construction, trial and warranty terms come from each manufacturer. Helix's website refuses automated requests, so its product, Elite collection, warranty and return-policy pages were read from Internet Archive captures dated 5 June to 17 September 2026. Its Queen reference price was confirmed against Helix's storefront product feed on 27 September 2026. Competitor prices were read from the manufacturers' pages on 27 September 2026. Where a page did not display the Queen price, NapLab's listed price was used, and each price is labeled with its source. Purchasd tested no mattresses. Owner experience comes from twelve Reddit threads read in full on 1 October 2026 (r/Mattress and r/HelixSleep, 2023–2026), used to find recurring complaints and disagreements, never to estimate failure rates. Purchasd is not affiliated with Helix Sleep or any competitor and uses no affiliate links. All three testing outlets cited here, and Tom's Guide, disclose that they may earn commission on sales, which is common among mattress review sites. Purchasd does not.
