Is Helix better than Tempur-Pedic?
Against the TEMPUR-Adapt, yes on most measures. NapLab scores the Helix Midnight Elite 9.21 to the Adapt's 8.06, and Helix gives a longer trial and a lifetime warranty. The Adapt costs about $700 less and matches its 10/10 pressure relief. This compares only the all-foam Adapt Medium, not Tempur-Pedic's whole range.
Purchasd compared one Tempur-Pedic model, the 11-inch TEMPUR-Adapt, and NapLab tested only its all-foam Medium version. On NapLab's scale the Midnight Elite scores 9.21 overall, in the top 10% of mattresses it has tested, while the Adapt's 8.06 puts it in the bottom 19%. Both score 10/10 for pressure relief. The Elite leads on cooling (10 against 8.0), motion isolation (9.2 against 8.8) and edge support (9.1 against 8.2). The Adapt is also the slower of two slow beds to respond (5.0 against the Elite's 7.6), so you sink in further and it takes longer to recover when you move.
The Adapt is the cheaper bed. Tempur-Pedic listed a Queen Adapt Medium at $2,299 on 27 September 2026, against $2,998 for a Queen Midnight Elite with Helix's 25% code on 17 September. Helix offers more cover for the money: a 120-night trial (with a 30-night minimum) against Tempur's 90 nights, and a limited lifetime warranty, free for 10 years and prorated after that, against Tempur's 10 years.
Owner opinion leans the other way in one place. In an r/Mattress thread where a 230 lb side sleeper cross-shopped Helix, Saatva and Tempur-Pedic, most replies favoured Tempur-Pedic and several called Helix better marketed than built. That is one thread on a forum with heavy brand and affiliate presence. It is a reason to use the trial, not a measurement.
If you want the same top pressure-relief score for less money and like a slow, sink-in foam feel, the Adapt is the cheaper route. If you sleep warm, want firmer edges or want the longer trial and warranty, the Midnight Elite is the better buy on this evidence. Tempur-Pedic's Adapt Medium Hybrid and its other lines were not tested here.

Helix Elite review: excellent for side sleepers, outscored on valueBy Purchasd Research. Performance scores come from three professional testing outlets: NapLab, Sleepopolis and Sleep Foundation. NapLab is the only one of them that has scored every model compared here on the same scale (its scoring system 1.3), so the head-to-head table uses NapLab alone. Construction, trial and warranty terms come from each manufacturer. Helix's website refuses automated requests, so its product, Elite collection, warranty and return-policy pages were read from Internet Archive captures dated 5 June to 17 September 2026. Its Queen reference price was confirmed against Helix's storefront product feed on 27 September 2026. Competitor prices were read from the manufacturers' pages on 27 September 2026. Where a page did not display the Queen price, NapLab's listed price was used, and each price is labeled with its source. Purchasd tested no mattresses. Owner experience comes from twelve Reddit threads read in full on 1 October 2026 (r/Mattress and r/HelixSleep, 2023–2026), used to find recurring complaints and disagreements, never to estimate failure rates. Purchasd is not affiliated with Helix Sleep or any competitor and uses no affiliate links. All three testing outlets cited here, and Tom's Guide, disclose that they may earn commission on sales, which is common among mattress review sites. Purchasd does not.
